Login Screen Halts at Startup In Mac OS X!
At times when user attempts to boot their Mac system then it behaves abnormally and in most of the case the reason behind this issue revolves just around the corruption of the Mac file systems i.e. HFS, HFS+ & HFS Wrapper. But this is not the end as some of the common reasons are also there which are liable to the Mac system corruption like improper shutdown, virus attack, kernel panic issue and many more. This corruption issue do have the solutions which are irrespective of the their logical crash i.e. using FSCK command, using Disk Utility program and so on. These methods are competent enough to resolve file system corruption issues in most of the cases but in case it failed to do so then the only option left to get rid of Mac system corruption is by re-installing Mac OS X and restoring the data from the updated backup. However, the valid and updated backup is not always available and in such case the only option is to use third party Macintosh File Recovery software which efficiently recovers all kind of data from the hard drive.
Let’s consider a situation where you might encounter any of these three below mentioned issues with Mac OS X during startup –
- You start Mac system and it displayed this error on the text-only environment – "Your system does not load the 'Desktop' after you login the administrator user name and password."
- The Mac system does not load the Desktop after you attempted to login using administrator username and password.
- Your Mac system does not reach to the login screen.
All these situations leave the Mac OS X unbootable and make the files stored in the Mac’s hard drive inaccessible.
Cause
All the above mentioned issues are caused due to the problem related to the file system which is either corruption or damage.
Solution
So, to get rid of this Mac startup issue caused due to file corruption or damage can be resolved by following the steps as mentioned below –
- To begin with, try to boot the Mac OS X system in ‘Safe Mode’.
- After that use the ‘Disk Utility’ option after inserting the installation disc.
- In case both of the above mentioned measures fall short to resolve the file system corruption issue then use the inbuilt ‘FSCK’ command of Mac. The command that you need to execute – ‘/sbin/fsck –fy’.
- But if neither of the above mentioned methods succeeded to resolve the resolve the issue then format the hard drive and reinstall the new file system.
Doing so, will certainly resolve the issue but at the same time it also make the previously saved files in the hard drive inaccessible. So, in order to access those files user need to opt for third party Macintosh File Recovery software which is incorporated with effective recovery tool to recover all formatted files of Mac hard drive.
