System Freezes Randomly after 10.6.3 Update

Nowadays most of the user of Mac discussing over an issue –Mac Snow leopard freezes randomly and this happens especially after 10.6.3 update. Mac system freezes randomly when using any app or program. Most of the user reported that freezing start after every 12 hours or sometimes 5 to 10 minutes in between. It continue until the next reboot/.

Some of the Symptoms—

  1. Although the mouse pointers moves but you cannot able to click on any icons or link or cannot interact with the anything on system using the mouse.
  2. System response nothing after pressing any key from keyboard. Whether they are pre-defined keyboard shortcut or any individual key.

Mac system only gets in the normal position after system restart. The problem of system freeze start only after 10.6.3 update.

Several reasons are responsible for this Snow leopard freezes issue –

  1. May be there is problem in the hardware configuration which is not compatible with the 10.6.3 update.
  2. May be your update process couldn't completed in the right manner.

 

Resolution

Whatever is the reason for this but rebooting system in 64 bit may fix the issue.

Whenever you are starting the system hold 6 and 4 (in case of spinning wheel appears). For booting in 64 bit you need to edit com.apple.Boot.plist (this is only when you have 64 bit efi).

Now open terminal.app and enter

sudo systemsetup -setkernelbootarchitecture x86_64

Now serach for

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string></string>

And replace it with

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>arch=x86_64</string>

Now restart the system.

Hopefully, afterwards snow leopard freezes never.

If still you are getting the problem then you are advised to reinstall operating system. This may fix your issue. Don't worry about the Mac data. Just use Mac data recovery and you will be able to recover lost data from your Mac system.
