Fix "HFS+ Partition Error" Of Mac OS X!

Mac OS X is one of the most advanced and sophisticated operating system designed and marketed by Apple Inc. To store and access the data of Mac’s hard drive, this operating system takes the help of file system designed by Apple Inc. itself. Primarily the file system designed and used by Mac OS X is HFS i.e. ‘Hierarchical File System’ which is now replaced with its advanced form i.e. HFS+ or HFS Plus file system. This HFS+ file system is very efficient and is made to store various metadata structures such as catalog file, volume header, allocation file and so on.

The volume header of HFS+ file system is used in replacement with the MBD (Master Directory Block) that contains the metadata of the volume. Any inconsistency or corruption to any of these metadata structures can lead to entire HFS+ file system corruption and can make the data stored in the volume inaccessible. So, in order to access the inaccessible data and restore it in a safe and secure place in the absence of valid backup third party Macintosh File Recovery software is required.

To understand the situation in a better manner, let’s consider a situation where when you attempted to boot your Mac OS X computer or try to access some data from the HFS+ file system volume, you encountered an error message which says –

"HFS+ Partition Error"

After the error message the system fails to boot, if the corrupt or damaged volume is the startup volume.

Solution

In order to resolve this partition error and make the inaccessible data accessible perform these below mentioned steps –

  • To start the proceedings, first use the 'Disk Utility' or 'FSCK' command to detect and repair the hard drive errors.
  • After that check the correct installation of GRUB, as such errors mostly encountered on the dual-boot systems which are associated with GRUB.

After performing the above mentioned steps if the problem persists then the partition scheme might be the cause of the corruption which needs to be repartitioned. So, just repartition the hard drive with changed partition scheme and restore the data from the recent backup available. In case the proper or valid backup is not available then you have to go with third party Macintosh File Recovery software to recover the lost and inaccessible information. This recovery software is very efficient as it not only recovers the lost data but also the deleted and corrupt data from each and every track and sector of the hard drive by its complete and thorough scanning. Once data is retrieved, you can restore it and use it further. So, without wasting any more time just use this efficient software and retrieve all your data from Mac’s hard drive if they are deleted, formatted or lost accidentally or intentionally.
