Fix Mac App Store ‘Error 100’


Mac OS X is a great operating system which is used world wide and is appreciated a lot by many normal and advance users of computer. Many versions of this operating system has been launched in the recent past and recently Mac has launched its most advanced and sophisticated operating system called Mac OS X 10.6.6. But many users have encountered a common problem related to this operating system while downloading any application from the Mac App Store. The issue is the error message that which is flashed while downloading any app from the Mac App Store. The error is very much similar to the one as mentioned below –

"We could not complete your App Store request. An unknown error occured (100). There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later."

The cause of this error message lies behind the fact that in the first minute Mac App Store went live and lets the user to log-in with its Apple ID. But this login does not include the acceptance of updated Terms and Conditions before user starts to use App Store. As user does not accepts Terms and Conditions so the App Store stuck in some sort of “limbo” and causes the error message to flash.

In order to fix Mac App Store Error 100 user need to follow certain steps as mentioned below –

  • To begin with first sign out from the Mac App Store. To do this you need to access the ‘Quick Links’ in Mac App Store homepage and then click on the “Account” section and then ‘Sign Out’.
  • After that just quit from the Mac App Store.
  • Log-out from the computer and log-in again.
  • Now open Mac App Store, sign in with Apple ID and try to download a free app again after accepting Terms and Condition when it is asked for.
  • You will soon see the download to be start.

If the issue still persists, then try to reboot your Mac as rebooting Mac has fixed the same problem of many users.
